Melody Morgan is a film and digital media director, editor, producer, and writer. She currently specializes in creating short-form video content for the web. Recent clients include: ModCloth, PopSugar TV, and Refinery29.
Melody graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she made her short films, NOBODY’S BUSINESS (Official Selection: New York International Film and Video Festival), and AFTER ADAM (Official Selection: First Run Film Festival). She earned her M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University, where she won the Kathryn Parlan Hearst Screenwriting Award, and received the Elements of Dramatic Narrative Fellowship.
After graduation, Melody filmed and directed the Behind-The-Scenes documentary for the Sundance feature film "Off The Black". She also wrote the feature screenplay adaptation of the young adult novel “Upstream” for Silver Lining Film Group, and was named a finalist for the Sundance/Sloan Screenplay Commission Grant. For two years Melody was a member of the production team for the Emmy award-winning PBS documentary series, Independent Lens.
Melody's short films have been described as “poetic” and “lyrical” and “weird”, and they offer visual meditations on place, heritage, and identity.
